Dear Gazette,
First off I would like to congratulate you for making a top notch website! I love to read all of the interviews with the different writers. The one thing I noticed, there are no interviews with any of the X-Men writers! They are one of the most influential teams and I would love to see an interview with some of the greats. The best person to interview, in my opinion, would be Chris Claremont. He basically made the X-Men into what they are today, and created some of the greatest characters to date. Such as Rogue, the troubled girl from the south who can never come into contact with others, Kitty Pryde, the teen whose first encounter with other mutants is a chase from the Hellfire Club (boo Emma). If you do interview him, would you please thank him for creating one of my favorite characters, Danielle Moonstar? I love her history, she is one of the first big Native American characters, and has some of the most interesting powers. She is so sweet and has so much compassion for others, but she can make your worst nightmares appear before your eyes, and her Psi-Arrows are one of the most unique powers ever! He is truly the best thing ever to hit X-Comics.
Another interesting read would be Mike Carey, he has brought back the X-Men from Milligan's mediocre run on X-Men. Which I think could've been good, but it just didn't have the most interesting storylines. Carey has reinvented Rogue, she made her the Southern belle who isn't afraid to kick @$$! Which is the Rogue we all know and love. He has also made us fall in love with a new character, Lady Mastermind. When she was first introduced in X-Treme X-Men, I just thought she was a "meh" character, but Carey has made her into a fan favorite! He is truly spectacular; his arcs are very different from the norm, but he writes it so well that you wish what he writes about was the norm! His line-up is not my favorite but he still makes the characters likeable, and I just can't wait for Endangered Species to come!!!!
Thanks for listening to my rant!
Glad you're liking the site. We constantly strive to make it the best site out there, and set it apart from all the Newsaramas and Wizards of the world. We're trying to interview a wider variety of creative people, and Chris Claremont is definitely high on the list. Keep your eyes on the Interviews page when we send out reporters directly to the trenches (of San Diego Comic Con, that is)! Who knows, you just might see your favorite X-writer.
