Ares 2011: What is P2P File Sharing?
Comments Off
Peer-to-peer file sharing with Ares is the sharing of files by users of a particular program with no intermediate hosts of servers. The digitalization of the physical files have paved way for the virtual handling and sharing of such files via peer-to-peer file sharing applications like the Ares 2011. Peer-to-peer file sharing is in fact much easier to transfer files from one computer to another across the globe through internet. Thus any one can share and request any file on the network.
With some p2p programs, even updates for computer games are also available, which is usually popular among students. Some of the most used Peer-to-peer file sharing applications is Ares2011, Frost Wire etc. P2P use in education is of much importance except considering the copyright infringements.

Ares 2011: What do you expect?Many researchers have confirmed the security risks associated with the peer to peer file sharing. They have cited the theft of personal information and the bundled spywares and malwares. Some file sharing clients have been found to bundle malware. Some open source file sharing programs like the Ares2011 has the integrated anti-virus scanning which is obviously good news for the users.
In Ares Vista peer to peer file sharing, the personal and sensitive information are shared which came in limelight when in early 2009 when blueprints of the Helicopter Marine One were made available to public through security breach via p2p file sharing site. Following this the developers of the Ares have came out with the built in antivirus scanner in the Ares file sharing program.
Further more in 2009, “there were also another security breach from which tax returns, student’s loan applications and credit reports have been made available through peer to peer file sharing” reported The Today show. The users are not much aware of the security risk they have from this peer to peer file sharing.

The U.S government is in a mission to make people aware of the potential risks associated with p2p file sharing applications. Understanding the peer to peer file sharing risk is a good thing before downloading the first file. These are the clear evidence that the resources are available much more widely than ever before.
Those days peer to peer file sharing was like exposing one’s computer to unwanted software’s and to unknown persons. Whereas now Ares 2010 have revolutionized it and it is much of a safe virtual journey in search of the files needed. The files shared with p2p programs have s security risk and often the file seem to be legitimate is virus in disguise.
To prevent your computer from such dangers, peer to peer file sharing users have to either have Ares2011 (because it has built in antivirus scanner) or
* Use a firewall.
* Keep your operating system and other software on the computer up to date.
* Install antivirus software and keep it updated regularly.
* Install anti spyware software’s and keep it up to date.
P2P file sharing and Copyright Infringement: There are some reputed and certified peer to peer software available to use, and if you choose to use it, you need to understand the difference between public domain material and copyrighted material. Violating copyright will make you liable to legal actions by the appropriate authorities as per law. So want to know how to avoid copyright infringements? Here you go. When in doubt about a file, neither share nor download it.
Monitor p2p application usage of family especially children and never get entangled in the assumptions that Internet Filter will take care of everything done over internet. Internet filter cannot does monitor the incoming and outgoing file and data transfer but still you got to be cautious. Most Internet filters cannot filter and block all the peer to peer file sharing. So it is important for all members of the family to be aware of the illegal file sharing and not to share or download it. So set antivirus software to perform a hard scan on regular basis and also do it manually yourself.
